Celestial Receptor no. 2 was designed as a sculpture for an outdoor garden, as a piece that birds can inhabit and land on. The name comes from this function, and also how it invokes the image of an antenna waiting for electrical waves. It has some extruded aluminium pieces in their natural anodised finish, which give it a kind of a dynamic. The base of this piece is a retired railway sleeper.
The piece is created by formed steel I-beams that have been welded together. This piece is fully galvanised and therefore weatherproof.
The piece has a blue and yellow finish which hopes to give a bit of sky and sun to a garden.
Materials: Galvanised steel, aluminium, 2k galvanised compatible paint.
Dimensions: inc. plinth 174 x 32 x 28cm
Weight: 14kg
